8th/9th August Townsville City Auto Club Cardwell Rally.
Speaking of Cardwell (and completely unrelated to do with anything except a kettle of fish and a dozen eggs), I had a quick flick through Australian Property Mag last night and Cardwell (Yes! Cardwell of Townsville fame!) is in the top 20 property hot spots to buy at the moment! That's random for a place in Townsville that I wouldn't have heard of except for rallying!

Me thinks investment and rally should go hand in hand... Maybe then I could afford more rallying... :(

You want to buy a nice block of land in Mackay? Just down the road from Cardwell. I have a block at Bucasia I want to sell. Bucasia is the beach suburb of Mackay. Very nice walk to beach ocean breeze mild weather, high rainfall. :)

Should change the Rydes Rally to the Victorian school holidays so I can con the wife into visting her mum near Farnborough while I watch rally cars. I always miss out as she can only get the school holidays off. :)

*** Updated 2009 Calendar ***

Round 1 - 7th Feb. KCF 1 Benarkin (Pace Note)
Round 2 - 4th April QRC Jimna (Blind)
Round 3 - 8-10th May Rally Qld Imbil (Pace Note)*
Round 4 - 18th July QRC Rydges Capricorn Rally Rockhampton (Blind)
Round 5 - 19th Sept KCF 3 Benarkin (Pace Note)
Round 6 - 28th Nov QRC Gallangowan (Blind)

Also means the calendar is now a 50/50 blind/pacenote, and also the calendar isn't a condensed into the first half of the year as it was previously.

* Rally QLD will be treated as 1 round. i.e. Half Points for each heat. This means that a competitor can choose to use the ARC as their 'dropped' round if they don't wish to compete, and conversely, retiring on day one doesn't loose you two round points. Competitors can enter any component they like, be it All Comers, QRC, ARC, times will be copied into one table for points scoring purposes.

** With the exception of Rydges, which has permission, we need to ask the BSCC if running the other rounds is fine with them.

Just had a thought about spectating at the WRC round. Once in a lifetime opportunity, but obviously very tightly controlled and standing 100 metres back, etc, etc.
Rodney has still got his dirt bike, I could buy another, (one never forgets how to fall off a motorbike). You still got yours, Justin. Doing cattle control would be a great way to see some close up action.

Nope I have sold mine but like remembering how to fall off there is always an excuse to buy another, mmmm 2009 elec start KTM 300EXC yum yum.
how about we buy postie bikes to give the cattle a chance.

I'm off to Fowles auctions tomorrow. Looking at a Kawasaki Vulcan (Harley copy) There was a nice KTM 525 there. Although these days, the cattle would still stand a chance.
