Hey all!

Today I posted off my entry!

And before anyone asks, I didn't tick the box and pay the extra $50 to score points as an interstate entry, so don't stress!

Now the plan is not to damage the car weekend before at Jimna! See ya'll down there!

Cheers,
Latho

Our rules say you don't score points until you have done two rounds of our series, but I did noticed you waited till any serious competition had eliminated themselves last W/E.:potstir: The Akedemos has claimed a few Excels in the past... the trick is to do every run you are allowed over the road so you get the notes as good as can be... then write a wet weather scenario just in case. Have fun they are great roads and Excels can do well given the long downhill stages. Check out some youtube as well, Brenton Kaitler has some great incar.

yeah, i know, it was a stir more than anything  But I still didn't see any need to pay $50 to score VRC points...

Good entry, 8 excels... but no Batten and no John/Bronny.

It will be good to see how Latho goes against the Allans.

Looks like Latho used his VRC 50 bucks as a bribe for the seeder!! ;) :potstir::rofl:

Drove the whole route on Wed Arvo NO advantage in having a higher seeding. In fact the back markers should have a distinct advantage (swept road). No won't be their this year have other priorities.... this time.

What are the roads like John? What sort of surface? I'm guessing completely different to what I'm used to?

Very similar to the Warrazambil Creek road just a bit wider. Oh and it started raining on Friday arvo, but hot today.

Very similar to what?! LOL Translate back into Banana Bender? I may have been born in Vic, but I've got no idea what Warrazaaammm something road is! :p

:crazy:OK while it is still in NSW you might know this one the Tweed Range Scenic Drive (Border Ranges) is very similar. Does that help?

Great to see most of the Excels running next weekend.
I am envious but the red rocket is a little bent after the Murrundindi and won't be participating :( (Shall try and remember to bring some photos of its recovery).

Shall be cheering you on at one of the road closures, or perhaps showing what good people skills we have at one of the spectator points.

Have a great rally. :clap::clap:

Peter and I will be at spectator point 2, so we will not meet up with you until after the event. :(

We will be hooraying loudly when you pass through the point, so make a good spectacle of yourselves. and no :splat:

Superwoman, make sure you hurry up all those in front of you on the second pass, so that we can get home earlier :potstir:

Well we are all back together and ready to go.

It has been a mad couple of weeks so apologies to all those I have been short with and all the e-mails I haven’t replied too.

Nikk and I would like to thank the Excel community for all their support and parts, JohnC, JohnE and Karina for various bits and pieces we needed to put it all back together. A HUGE thankyou to Mick Gillet at Hyundai Motor Company for organising panels, radiators and other essentials, in what can only be described as record times, and to the local panel beaters (Moro and Dooley) for straightening the rail and fitting a new radiator support in 3 working days. Nice work all!!

I know it is starting to sound clichéd but I really can’t imagine this sort of support for a newby in any other form of motorsport. For those on the outside looking in, the support and camaraderie in the Excel series is truly astonishing, thanks again all!

Apart from having the rail straightened Nikk and I did all the work, so a big thanks to Nikk without whose help this wouldn’t have been done on time. I would also like to thank Peter Hardiman from Symes Motors Hyundai in Bendigo for keeping me up to date on when things arrived and for sorting out our over revving issue.

We managed to get it together to compete in a Khanacross on Sunday and it held up no worries so all we need is a wheel alignment and we are back in business.

Bring on Akademos!

Tony
