Glenn Farrant has taken a run away win in Round 1 of the Race Brakes NSW Excel Rally Series. The rally field was effectively split in two when a tree blocked SS1 causing a 40 minute delay for half the field. During this time a huge storm swept through turning the roads to slop. It turns out that Glenn was the second car stopped at said tree and derived no significant benefit from his seeding and the storm as was originally posted. The speed differential between Glenn and the other Excels in the "slick" conditions was huge and only goes to prove that the rest of us need to drive a hell of a lot faster to be in with a shot at the 2007 title.
His victory was not without drama however, with the reoccurrence of electrical problems which first surfaced last year.
