Just realised we need to get the engine sealed,
Do the 2006 rules and forms still apply ??
I really dont want to pull the engine apart with just over a month to go until Taree.

You will stil be able to have the second hand motor signed off until you win a series or decide to rebuild it. I think Dave put the forms on the site here somewhere.....

yeah all the files are here but still dated 2006,
Do we have to get the car scrutineered by you
seing as you are the NSW Excel Series Scrutineer :)

Cheers

I remember it was said that we are still running the same rules so that is OK.

You don't have to get the car scrutineered by me but I guess my position really is that I may scrutineer the car at any time, at any of our series events where you are competing for excel points. I am willing to try to get to most events early and scrutineer the excels to help with everyone feeling comfortable for the event, as some events are notoroius for having circuit scrutineers pick on things that don't apply to rally cars etc, but that is up to you. I will probably try to get some sort of group excel checks going, but excels are so easy, it should not be much of an issue, until we get 20 cars or something competing.

If you are talking about your initial pre event scrutineer for your log book then you are just log booking it as a prc car so anyone will do, as you can go to non excel events, or even excel ones if you don't want to score points, and run with external adjustable suspension, dog box, big engine etc, but as long as you put it back to score excel points at excel rounds. Need any help on scrutineering give us a call.

Hey guys,

just had our first event here in sa and realised we havent done any engine sealing yet (not much of an issue i think seeing as there is only one car). Does anyone have any details, photos etc of the best place for the seals?

thanks,

Dave

You could protest yourself to force the issue :D

I thought the photos were here already, never mind i have attached them now.

As already stated you can seal any existing engine, but will need to sign a form which basically says that if you win the sheep station at the end of the year and your engine is measured and found to be not within th erules then you will forfeit all your series points for the year.

Who has everyone got their seals put on by ??

This is harder to get done then i thought by a scrutineer
even with the excel forms

Hi Ben,
it is easy if you are just getting an existing engine sealed and signing the bottom of the form agreeing to the loss of points clause.

Just pre drill your holes and then on Saturday Dave Roberts or myself will seal the engine and collect your signed form.

I have arranged to get the Gemini/Excel sealing kit to take to Taree.
You will need to remove the sump guard so the sump can be sealed up on the day. Just track me down at Midcoast Ford

I think Dave Roberts needs some sealing as well.

Hassles usually on arise when you are measuring & sealing as part of buuilding a new engine, as you need to get a turbo sealing kit from CAMS and get an S3 or higher scrutineer to measure and sign the forms when sealing the engine.
