Good morning all,
The Supp Regs and entry form for the Phillcomm Rally Jimna event can be found on the BSCC website http://www.bscc.asn.au
The event will be a round of the City Subaru QRC series, the City Subaru Clubman series, the Silverstone Competition Tyres Pocket Rocket Series and the GSL RallySport Excel series.
This is the first QRC event other than Rally Queensland to be pace noted and we hope this innovation will be well received.
Entries close Thursday 26th March.

Not one Excel entered. It's just going to be one of those years apparently...

Nah Greg it’s going to be a great year.
Kelvin was thinking about entering but is very busy in non-rally world, and his car is still for sale
Ed ran at Yarraman (with Taxi as Nav), he is flat out at work and will run Kalpowar or possibly Rally Q.
Tanz's car (well Al's car) had people all round it all day at Yarraman and will debut at Kalpowar then hopefully Rally Q.
Taxi's is on budget at the moment to get seats, harnesses and suspension but as with all people who work in the military sometimes life is hard to organise.
Jason and Dirk are still trying hard to be ready for Rally Q but we all know how hard it is to work full time and build a car, I think Nathan should be starting the cage in the near future.
The two Nathan’s should have run Jimna but the entry fee was too high and in the end Nate went off to Perth for the forest rally.
Rod and I had every intention to run Jimna, it’s only the fact that I damaged tweety a bit at Yarraman and Rod has bought a business that requires him to work that weekend. I have even rung the Clerk of Course to apologise and give our reasons for withdrawing our interest. We will be running at Kalpowar and Rally Q.
We have Mick coming up to Rally Q so that should be awesome.
You have sold your car so we have lost you as a competitor and Luke is building his F16 rocketship so maybe an Excel might win the Australian F16 championship.
Maybe we should look at re-installing Kalpowar as a round as well as Rally Q as Tanz has suggested. The only problem I see is the extra $400.00 for the Cams fee that GSL offered to pay that will now be unavailable as at the committee’s request GSL has generously supplied the officials of all of our rounds with the sunscreen, hat and skincare packs in lieu of last years series sponsorship. It’s a bit sad that the officials, roadblocks and volunteers at Jimna next weekend will be resplendent in GSL Excel series stuff and not one of us will be competing.
so hopefully we can have Alan, Justin, Ed, Jason, Terry, Nathan run later in the year. That would make six cars with Luke being a ring in at seven. If we got Mark and Kev that could make nine.:grouphug:

Hey folks... haven't made a post for while...work's flat out and I just don't have the time to surf the web at work like I used to...
Jason and I have come up with a revised plan (which will probably be revised again knowing our circumstances :() and it doesn't look like we'll have the car ready to go until later on in the year. Jas has committed to Rally Q but we'll be running in the old charade again (this time in the all-comers).
Jas has almost cleaned out the deadener and then we'll ship the car off to Nathan, and with a bit of sweet talk ($), get him to do the major stuff for us... yet to broach the subject with him though (don't tell him!!! oh damn he reads this stuff...).
I'm dealing with the electrics/gauges etc. side of things and we'll be pilfering the lightforces from the Charade and building a new light bar (thanks to Stephen Page for the design..).
At this stage it looks like late July/August if we keep to the revised plan so we might not make an Excel appearance until KCF3 in September.
Jas has got a MBA exam this weekend and I'm off to Victoria to visit the outlaws for Easter, so neither of us will be able to make Jimna to compete or officiate..
Hope to see you all at Rally Q if not before, we can have the :grouphug: then...
Regards

At the risk of upsetting all that put a lot of time and hard work into making rally happen:(
Sorry for not entering the jimna rally.
Reason 1 its a 2 horse race at the moment and the 2 horses are not in it to win (well thats the way i see it)
Reason 2 $5.09 per comp Km sorry Greg & Kathy i know how much work you put into make a rally happen. With out them i would have nothing to bitch about there would be no rally!! but its just to much.
Yarraman rally was $2.25 per comp Km.
Rally Q will be $2.89 per comp Km.
Reason 3 Sunday Rally will not work for me this time due to kids have a triathlon on and the kids allways come and do road blocks or help me when i rally so its my turn to help them.
So again sorry Greg for not entering i know you put time and money in to promote the excels and i think it will be a good thing thats why i built one!!
Cheers Ed Williams aka Spud cooker

Horses???
Awe cumon Ed all I said is was why are you walking funny?, Tanz giggled and said you looked like you had lost your horse
Sure it was race suit chafing, if that was the case why was Taxi walking the same way??????
Brokeback Yarraman maybe??
On a more serious note dont forget Kalpowar at $1.34 per competitive km, as I stated at a recent club meeting we as Excels need km for $ as our running costs are mainly entry fee's and tyres.

On a more serious note dont forget Kalpowar
i would appreciate it if the word serious and Kalpowar were not used in the same sentence! it's just a good no frills fun rally.
Jimna was our target, but unfortunately we didn't pick up the car in time to prep it for the event. The two day format was going to be a struggle for us given the 2 days travel as well, but Al was keen. I reckon we missed out by about a week, as the build is making good progress thanks to Nikki and Al, whilst I drink beer and cheer them on!
Ed, as for your two horse race. The way I see it, based on Yarraman you're currently leading from Justin, we're in 3rd place as we turned up with a car and Dirk's coming 4th as he turned up, but without an Excel.:lmao:

And Taxi is comming last because he's an AJ, has rooted knee's and thinks Faulty Towers is better than "The life of Brian". (shhhh he hasnt discovered Little Brittan yet). Well Taxi is last because he has a fully log booked car and is being fiscally responsible.

I did bring a wing along, but you're right, a "full car" still beats a wing
We might have to rethink our event scoring system...
1st Excel finishing the event
2nd Excel finishing event etc..
anybody who turns up in an excel to help out,
anyone who brings an excel that they found for sale on the side of the road,
anyone who brings along a bit of an excel to swap with someone else!
In the event of a tie for an "ancillary placing", we can play rock, paper, scissors or mudwrestle depending on event weather. Mudwrestling would probably have predominated last year....:lmao::lmao::lmao:
