Good to have you on board Peter,
Hoping a couple of others will turn up too.

So are you silly seating or steering at the Trailblazer?

Tony

Any idea what time it usually finishes?

Hi Tony Steering with another almost Senior in the Silly seat. There are two separate events -first a Touring Assembly starting at the United Fuel Servo in Kilmore at 1.30 First car due to finish at the Heathcote Showgrounds at 5pm. 6.30 start second tour and arrive at Central control-somewhere in the Heathcote forest for start of 2 loops of 113 k's competitive at 8pm first crew due to finish at around 11pm {hoho] Both events are navigational with almost zero input from driving--however as its easy to get lost you need to get going to try and make up time. Event is timed to the minute.
Its my first serious event as a driver since the early 80's and the first event for Freddie for 18 years [must point out Fred was a former Grade A nav back in the era of Nav style events] Anyway as they are relatively low speed events its a good one to attempt first up.
Anyway we'll keep Davetrees honest while he reclines in the silly seat of a escort--and NO Tony its NOT black!!!
Cheers Peter

Only 2 more sleeps till I get my dose of Lotus TC goodness !! (First time the Twink has seen the light of day since our little "off road excursion" in the BP last May. The RS2000 was fun, but it just wasn't the same ... )

Hopefully I can still remember how to read a map .... the spoilsports won't let me bring my "good" maps of Heathcote :(

I'm surprised you need any maps Dave? I was lead to believe these were tattooed to your brain when you where born and then passed on to your children through your DNA?? (At least that's what Watty is hoping)

I gather the hardest part of navigating in a TC is trying to work out whether you liked the harmonies from the induction or exhaust better.

Back to the Autocross we have a couple of interesting entries on the day, one from an ARC champ, (just lost factory sponsorship) so that should be good for a look.

Dave I believe that after you visited my control after a dunking in the ford -- Friday morning on the BP the twink--- twank .so instead of seeing me on 4 occasions you only saw me once! I think Freddie has got the map thing covered as he's been mumbling all sorts of curses while pouring over his MUM,s which have seen the light of day for the first time in almost 2 decades!! most of the curses are aimed at that bast****d SL. See you there SAt.
OK Tony SE is having a run but in what????

I wish ..... it's a skill learned through experience rather than any inborn talent (and I still have a LOT to learn !!)

Heathcote can bring the best navigators undone (I recall seeing one R Runnalls WD the control at the end of a transport on the Experts one year), and I certainly don't count myself amongst that elite group.

I doubt whether the event will fully exploit the mysteries of the Heathcote forests anyway - the average HRA event isn't a navigational nightmare. At least I'm hoping that's the case !

Should be good fun.
