I thought that entry fees were meant to be limited to $350 Or maybe that is just the ACT Rally Series (even though both RoC and RoL were $355).

I am planning to attend as a volunteer rather than competitor.

According ot the competition conditions, maximum entry fee is supposed to be $355 for Clubman & Excel events.
Also the 400km for 115km competitive is a bit ridiculous.

The transport is always heavy at Taree. I guess it is so we can get to the good roads out the back. As for the entry fee, they would have had to apply for permision from the rally panel to go above the max price for a clubman series as outlined in the organising conditions but I don't know why the would have to as there is a good margin in a normal field.

Who do we have going then. From what I heard at Lithgow a few won't be there. I guess we have

Competing
Whitey
Mathew
Andrei
Haggers
Myself

Bob

Officiating
Bargy

Don't know about

This was posted on BMSC.

We did float the idea of grouping the Excel series cars together at service park and if you guys are happy with that , well yes we can do that no problem at all.We are also thinking about having the competitors set up in their running order at service park , the reason being that if an official needs to locate a service crew to inform them of an incident/accident/breakdown,etc then they can find them easily.Should be a great event,Roads are looking BRILLIANT

Anyone have any thoughts or are going to service by themselves or with others from other clubs. Otherwise I think that it would be good of the organisers to allocate a big excel service area. Comments?

I thought Self servicing at Taree is a problem, as the start and end are a good 30 min from the service park ??

but being togeter is always good.

Ben.

The best thing about putting us all together is that we can share our resources and help out anyone that doesn't have a service crew. I should have 2 people with me and so normally can spare one of those at least. Both of them if all is going well and somebody else needs a hand. I need to remeber to take up a few extra litres of fuel this year as we nearly did not make it back last year :spank:. I will fill it up at the beggining and take an extra 15 L to get us back to town as it is a long way out.

I posted over at BMSC, but I reckon all servicing together would be tops. Not having Mick there with the parts truck at the first event for the new car could be a bit of a problem, but I'm sure we'll struggle through.

Got to get the entry off tomorrow.

hi guys

You are most welcome to take the spares kit however someone will need to pick it up from HO. We are having them freighted back from Rally Qld so they won't be back until after Wed next week.

Bek's right - we can't make it. I have a sort of love hate thing with Taree. I fondly remember Shab offering to sign Paul Batten's posterior at about 1.30 am after the rally (in which he co-drove for me but that's another story). That rally also had very long transports and even if Shab hadn't got us lost we still wouldn't have finished until after 12. I think Bek and I may have come to the conclusion last year that we could give it a miss without tears. As it has turned out work has intervened anyway to decide it for me.

It will be a tough rally endurance/concentration wise with lots of night driving.

Good luck!!

I had to wait until I knew whether I needed to go to Melbourne this weekend before committing to officiating. When I called last night, they did not need any more officials. :wtf: A first time for everything?

So I guess that Taree will be my "dropped" round. See y'all at Bega (or Applicance Installations for those competing in the ACT Series).
