A nice simple on for my first post...can anyone tell me what size socket i'll need to get the front driveshaft nut off?

Cheers

I know the cars metric before anyone says anything but I use a 1 1/4 inch socket that fits perfectly. I don't know if that was the intention of Hyundai and it is an imperial size but it works. I removed my ones on the weekend to do the engine swap. Make sure you drain the oil in the gearbox first, and then I used a small tyre lever to help pop them and then out they slid.

I'm with Dave, the 1 1/4 fits better then any metric socket.

Did you end up with a huge pool of oil on the garage floor, Dave.... :)

No oil on the floor. Mick suggested getting ready to plug the whole with something so I knew I would wear it if I tried it so drained the oil first. Now to work out what spec oil to put back into it. Anyone have the spec handy.

We use Redline Shock Proof oil that we get from unique sports cars at Castle Hill- its common name is Alien Blood
