I've finally got my car back to the point when I'm trying to run it.
It had this problem before I pulled the engine out, so I'm not real surprised.

Before, it needed a loooooong hill to roll start it, just cranking wasn't good enough.

I've put a new filter, different fuel lines & fuel pump in, but after cracking the bango bolt on top of the fuel filter, there's no fuel there.

Couple of bits of info I'm chasing:
1. where is the fuel pump relay?
2. if its in that block up behind the dash, which one is it?
3. I have a spare engine here (which I've never run), are there particular sensors which have an issue & I should look at replacing?

Any other suggestions:confused:

fuel pump relay.
the panel to the right of the steering wheel, with the cluster dimmer on it. Middle relay behind that.

also check the control relay. without the coil energised on the control relay the ecu won't operate the fuel pump relay. its on the right of those 3 relays on the chassis above the ecu.

check those first. if either is not operating no broom broom...

I personally haven't had this problem (yet, touch wood etc) but it has been discussed here before. Try search for now. But I believe it has something to do with the fuel pump only operating once the alternator is up and running.

hmmmm. Interesting Dave. Will do a seatch now, but the fitting of a fan belt may have helped too.
