Depends how you want to mount them and what sort of seats. For starters do you have bottom or side mount seats which will then determine where to start. I have mine bottom mounted on the original adjustable runners.

Firstly welcome to the forum.:)
As you have probably discovered the standard mount points are all over the place and not in the same line front to back or side to side in the case of the rears.
If you are using side mount seats, remove the standard rear mounts and replace it with a tube that goes the full width of the car and then run angle or reinforced plates from the front mount to the tube. (see attached photo of MicK Gillett's mounts). The tube can also be used then to mount the harness crutch straps.
Depending on how tall or short you are, you may need to space the F-R rails so the seat can be lowered between them or angle grind/plate the bump in the front seat mount at the tunnel to get the seat rails far enough forward to allow your feet to reach the pedals.
Hope that all makes sense

thankyou for the response,
the seats are mounted under the seats not to the sides.
the mounting brakets i got with the seats are about 2inchs short so i was thinking of using the old mounts but they have mounts where u bolt them on under the seats and that wont work with these seats.
so i was thinking i would have to make up a hole new frame then bolt the seats on using the new seat brakets???
thankyou whitey for the pick that helps alot
dave do u have any picks of how u mounted the seats it would help me alot.
thankyou

Hi Whitey.
Do you have anymore pics of that installation?
Im planning on fitting some Fixed racing seats to my excel, I've got a Cobra Evolution that I would like to use along with a Cobra Suzuki. They are of course side mounted.
Just looking for idea's on how to do it, and also to make sure the engineeer would be happy with it.

I cant get a better shot as our car is still at Race Brakes
But this shot sorta shows how our brackets were made up,
They also use the original bolt holes so we can transplant them if we destroy the shell.

This is on the standard rails so you can adjust them but you don't want to be very tall with helmets and everything.
Passenger seat and drivers seat shown.

yes i made it useing the old brakets from the old seats, this made it very high,
so now i,m going to try making my own brakets then bolting the rails that came with the seat into the brakets i made so i,v vertually have the seat nearly on the floor.like AE86 picture has shown.
I,m doing this for a road car not a ralley car,.
another question guys,can i buy a turbo for a 1.5 engine its a 1998 11month excell
