Yes it did. You have access to the competitor forum, please use it.

Cool, a PM telling me why would have been pleasant. The original post was put in the public area for comment, comment was given, but because it disagrees with the master plan it's been banished.
There's democracy for you.

To the user who shot there mouth off in that 2011 thread
It sounds like a great way to get more people into the sport
Sorry Rob, I don't need to justify what I did when you've got feedback like the above. It's up for discussion, in the competitor section, with all concerned parties. Your unfounded comments in view of the public does nothing for the image of the series, or that of the sport.

I was only replying to what was put up for comment. I commented and asked questions.
I really couldn't care less what Kenoath thinks of me. He can think whatever he likes. No skin off my nose.
I still think a PM to advise me of what was happening would have been courtious. (BTW, thanks for the last one. :))

I think you are missing the point Redwarf it's not about what I think of you it's the comments you are making in a public forum for all to see including people who might just benefit from those changes.
The way that you expressed your opinion wasn't really the best way to go about it was it? Isn't that what PM's are for?

Public commment was asked and given in the public area. I will not hold back for political correctness for something that I feel is important.
Hyperthetically, why not blame the person who put it in the public forum in the first place?
Opinions generate discussion. If I can't give my opinions freely, what is the point? We just end up with "Everythings happy, everythings wonderful" attitude that does nobody any good at all......

To all interested Queensland Excel Rally parties.
Just a quick note from me as a competitor
My name is Justin Sinclair I am a current excel rally competitor and owner of Tweety the yellow Excel.
You might be mistaken by reading this and other rally forums that the series in Qld has issues, well it does not.
We have a healthy series sponsor in Greg Latham from GSL rally Sport, Greg has provided great prizes at each round and has even traveled to Bega to help the lone Qld car compete in the national cup.
We currently have three cars running at rallies myself, Ed Williams and Alan Reininka. We even had Mick Gillett of HMCA participate at Rally Q.
There are a further two cars Jason Van Passen and Rob Dixon that are in the final stages of completion, Jason’s was being painted last week and Robs needs about 10hrs to finish off little stuff like trip meter and suspension mounting. It should be noted that both of these drivers are experienced competitors and are not newbie’s. This means we are also attracting seasoned campaigners.
We also have Mark Williams who is new to the series but owns two race ready Excels, one is the old Ernst car from Victoria. The other is the famous HMCA Kangan Bateman TAFE car that has been driven by Ed Ordinski and Paul Batten. Both of these cars should run in Qld in the next few months once driver details are finalized. Mark is doing an extraordinary job of helping younger drivers get into cars. He is doing for Qld what John Carney has been doing in Vic for the last few years.
So that means that we should have seven cars running at an event by the end of the year.
The Qld Series is part of a nationwide network of rally enthusiasts and is the best way to enter rallying if you want to compete in a modern front wheel drive car with factory parts sponsorship and a great bunch of people.
Some people have been quick to say that 2009 has been a write off for rallying and quite frankly it have been a tough year for all of us given the economy but in no way has it been a write off.
We had five Excel’s compete at the Qld ARC round (one in F16)
Even though the fields are down a little, only one event has been cancelled due lack of entries.
As I write this the Boarder Ranges rally is about to start with at least one S2000 car and 40 entries and one excel, I am not competting becasue Rod (Tweeties Nav ) has just bought a new restaurant and this weekend is his first.
In September we have the WRC coming to northern NSW (which really we claim as a Qld event anyway :) ) and there are still 5 events to go till the end of the year.
We have had Excels at Yarraman, Rally Q, Bega, Hirstglenn, Jimna and Urbanville I don’t call that a write-off.
The current Qld Excel committee is
Chairman – Greg Latham
Secretary – Dirk van Holst Pellekaan
Points scorer - Anthony Tanzer
Other members, Justin Sinclair, Gideon Street, Peter Stringfellow, Margot Knowles, Shaun Dragona, Mark Williams, Terry O’Donnell and Alan Stein
So unless you see anything officially in writing from the Chairman with the GSL Excel series letterhead then it is nothing more than a personal opinion and is not to be taken as an indication of a representation of the series (and that even includes this note)
So if you are interested in rallying please come and say hello or send us a pm
Kind regards
Justin Sinclair
