Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the fuel pump system handy and know the location of the relay, when should the pump do its thing, ie should it pump fuel when you turn the key on as even when disconnecting the fuel line of the fuel filter between it and the fuel rail, I can't get fuel to come out of it, with ignition on or cranking. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

If you dont have a manual try
http://www.hmaservice.com
Note some of the wire colours are not correct but pin outs are usually correct, also its US based so vehicles are left hand drive but can be applied to Aus cars.
When you turn the key to on it should prime the fuel rail for about 3 sec then switch off, so when you crank it its got preesure, so if you turn it to on and dont hear anything its not getting power.
Hope it helps.

Thanks
Thats the website I was trying to think of. I thought the fuel should prime up but unless there is something strange I am not getting anything even with the line disconnected. I will try to get an idea of where everything is to trace back but it has me stuffed. Pull engine out with hole in it, put another one in, turn key and go. SHould be that easy but never...

I am pretty sure that the fuel pump relay is the middle one behind the panel that has the instrument light dimmer and rear fog light switch (right of ignition switch)
Of couse this all means nothiong if your wiring harness has been butchered and rearranged to fit the roll cage. :D

Fuel pump is alright and it doesn't prime until the engine is cranking for future reference. Found the inlet cam was put in 180deg out of wack. Luckily it was exactly 180deg so no valve bounce. Put cam in correct spot and away she goes.
Now to get some miles on it but also try to get the body fixed up a bit more before Taree, plus a wheel alignment, a khanacross to run, etc etc.
We will be looking forward to Taree though.
