This weekend sees the running of the Car Auctions of Sydney Lithgow rally in the forests around Lithgow and Hampton.
Whilst not a round of NSW Race Brakes Excel Series the event is of special significants to the Excel Series. Former Mitsubishi works driver and Australian Champion, Ed Orydynski is having a guest drive in the HMCA prepared machine.

It will be of great interest to see how Ed goes against the AWD Turbo outright cars and the best 2WD cars in the state. The event also gives, Glenn Farrant, arguably the quickest Excel steerer in the country, an opportunity to compete against a true champion in equal machinery.
Interestingly, Ordynski has been seeded just behind Farrant. It is not known whether this was a ploy by the organisers to allow Ed to check up on Glenn's times :naughty: or whether it was to stop Glenn from punting his car off trying to match the times of the former Australian Champion.

No doubt it will be a great spectacle with Ordynski, partnered by long time codriver Iain Stewart, having an advantage with the pacenotes however Farrant, with codriver Anna Ritson, will balance this out having more familiarity with their underpowered FWD machine.
Also competing are Matthew & Ben Cullen in their recently completed Excel, It will be a great opportunity for Matt to get some more event experience under his belt.
Good luck to the all the Excel competitors.
If you are heading to the make sure you tune your radio ton 93.3FM to catch up on all the rally action and results.
