Which motor is this?

Hi

This is fitted to a 04/00 model excel. Is it just a normal twin cam with a flash new cover or a whole different motor?

As far as im aware its still an Alpha III engine but with a different cam cover.
i could be wrong though

Yeh that is the stock motor. Sometime in 99 they changed the rocker cover design (to that one) which carried through to the early accents.

If you probably added a bit of goop around the rocker cover to spark plug cover plate you ahould have no trouble at all. I would not have thought you would have had any trouble anyway. Have a look at my avatar. I generally don't back of much for water (had water come through the roof vents before) and never had a problem with the twin cam set up, except when I didn't have the cover on :spank:

Thanks for that haven't had a problem during rallies only on the hose down afterwards. Anyway going to build a new light bar today ready for Bega got some ideas from our newest Excel member who has pilfered theirs from their old 1600 very steady and easy to put on and off.
