My 1998 Excel twin cam started misbehaving on Sunday. Ran fine last week, but then broke the ISC valve and I installed another one. This Sunday ran fine for a while and then as soon as it got hot it started running rough, and then stalled. Starts again immediately and idle fine but then runs rough and stalls. After the restart it runs fo about 25 seconds. As soon as I try to give a bit of throttle it stalls. Almost sounds like it is running out of petrol but the pressure anf low is fine.

Checked all connections and HT leads and all seem fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Did you install a new ISC valve or a s/hand one?

Either way I think it will need time to relearn, try disconnecting the battery for half an hour to reset the computer or get someone to reset it with a diagnostic tool and see how you go.

If it is a new ISC then you should be fine if it second hand then you might want to give it a good clean out. I know a few of us have had issues with the plastic pin at the bottom of the unit breaking and then the car constantly revs then returns to idle, revs then return to idle etc.

Good luck.
