After using (abusing) our starter motor to help get the car on the trailer last year after the failure of CPS the starter has finally had enough and needs a re-build. As I often do I have a look around my shed first alas the old 2.6ltr Magna has a starter with the same throw and engagement gear & nosecone as a Excel the advantage being they are designed to turn over a 2.6 Multipoint fuel injected Magna motor and they are Australian made by Bosch fully serviceable. Cost at wreckers about $10 dollars. Works fine.
