Don't have my car ready yet but have already booked accommodation in the banana coast caravan park to make sure I get a cabin. FYI it is only about 500m from the start finish venue (the big banana) and a lot cheaper than the country comfort (the start/finish venue is ideal if you have a small crew). I believe it is similar to last year so one service point, but the crew have to drive to it as it is about half an hour from Coffs. Brilliant roads.

I'm going.
Long way to go, but great roads that don't damage your car make up for it.

Mathew and I will be there one way or another,
with or without an alternator
I think our parents are coming across from Moree to service,
Anyone want to organise a rally in Moree, lots of dirt roads only a short drive
Their property that backed onto Watigans was better for those late night drives in the rally car though :naughty:
Ben.

If he's going then I'm going! :D
Yes we will be there. This is Harv's and my home rally so I'm looking forward to it more then any other event this year. Just need to find some time in a Excel first cause you guys have got a fair bit faster then last year and I don't want to get left behind.
Cheers Mick

Had to miss last year, so can't wait.
Motel booked.
Bumpers-panels-headlights replaced.
Few more touches and ready to go.
(Need to remember to convert brakes from 3 to 4 wheels mode  )

If Mick's going then we'll be there supporting all the Excels if needed.
Roadside Assist will be extra :) !!
Wonder if Harv will get lost on the way to the first forest stage on his home rally like last year ?
No pie van this year, but a company car with tow bar and fuel card can do amazing things as a service trailer tow-er.
Andrei, we'll make sure that we have topped up our spares supply since Bega. That way you'll be sure that you won't need them.
You were lucky at Bega, I had only just purchased those brake hose clamps a few days before Bega. So when converting the car back to 4 wheel brakes, just leave the clamp in the car and I can grab it off you at Coffs.

Thanks Wayne,
To use the Roadside Assist two times in a row would be too much.
But you never know :spank:
Do you have knuckle for the left rear side ?
Cast parts seem to be a problem
Having steel wheels has well paid off.
Will return clamp and also front control arm bracket - it has been modified to fit a sumpguard on Mick's car. Proprietary spare. (Hey, not original Excel part! )
Can't use on mine as my mounts are different.

Can't go - same day as my wedding.
Don't ask me in the presence of the wife what I'd rather be doing!!:spank:

Well the excel is finally somewhat finished so this will be haggers and i's first rally in the excel and my first ride for this year our last rally being ulladulla last year. Haggers and I will probabley be done the back of the field admiring the goats in the fully hectik excel. My husband has big plans for the excels sticker job but we have to wait and see what is going to suit the car the best.:potstir: Hope to meet you all at some stage to get to know some of you. :hyper:

We're ready.
Had a run at a Khanacross yesterday to hopefully sort out my handling issues after making some alignment changes...and it's all good now. I know Dave will be interested in what I did...so I disconnected the front sway bar and dropped the front ride height by 20mm (Coffs has smooth roads)...and now the thing is nicely balanced again, but has more grip than it did before :)
Looks like Ben and Matt sorted out the alternator problem at the event too. Was a good productive session for the Excel crowd with Andrei there too.
Can't wait for Coffs now.

Glen - do I recall correctly that you had already disconnected/removed the rear bar? (so were just running the front bar only?).
Does this mean you've kept the settings as you had them at the Bay, or have you gone back to your original alignment settings?
The usual disclaimer applies - please feel free to tell me to p*ss off and work it our myself!!

I had been running without a rear bar since the beginning.
I made some changes for the Bay and that made it understeery (details in another thread)
I then made some changes on top of what I did at the bay (i.e. disconnect the front bar and drop the ride height). So now it's completely different to what I had before the Bay...and in theory I've got a lot mor grip at both ends. :hyper:
Always happy to let anyone know what I'm doing....no secrets here.

So, now how are we going to catch you???
We are all but ready for Coffs, The Pinkslip and Scruteneering have been done, The seat has been moved back after the two vertically challanged drivers from Lithgow and Bega. Jeez you should see the hole in the floor behind the Navs seat.
The car is clean and the trailer is all but packed. Just need some rain up there to stop the dust and I believe there is a bit of smoke from distant bush fires.
Cheers Mick

Bek - I have your belts - just got them from Damo... now I just have to remember to bring them :)
Well I drove into Coffs Last night about 5pm and it's been trying to rain ever since. Man it has come close to raining, It wants too but just can't.
Drove to Grafton today and had a bit of a shower up north of Woopi that wasn't bad and could settle some dust but lets see what tomorrow brings.
