Competitive distance for Intro is around 120km while Clubman/Hyundai get nearly 80km.

Is that right, intro event is longer than clubman/hyundai event. Is it all closed stage blind rally or does it involve other things.

I do believe that is correct, Clubman/Excels are all road book (first road book event since 2005) and closed roads and the intro is navigational/road book.

As per the SA Conditions of Rallying, this is the definition of the Clubman/Hyundai Rallies:

Rallies will be fully route charted with closed competitive sections between 30kms and 100kms total competitive distances. A "closed competitive section" is defined to mean roads closed with relevant ministerial approval or run on private property. Rallies can consist of all-day or all-night or mixed stages. All Clerks of Course are encouraged to establish chicanes or passage controls on faster stages. Average speed set on competitive section shall not exceed 90kms per hour unless a Special Stage permit has been approved.

As per the SA Conditions of Rallying, this is the definition of the Introductory Rallies:

An Introductory rally is a timed road event which complies with the following criteria:
· Maximum duration of 4 hours.
· Timing is to the whole minute, using target time, not elapsed time and no reconnaissance is permitted.
· The event is not part of any series or championship, except for the club championship of the organising club.
· The maximum number of entries is 40.
· Vehicles are restricted to 2WD or normally aspirated 4WD vehicles only.
· Helmets must be worn on all competitive sections of the event.
· The CAMS State Manager will approve the status of “Introductory Rally”.

Hiya all,

It is with great regret (and a massive dose of Sod's Law now that the supp
regs are out), that I have to say, the HLMR has been postponed to around the
end of Sept/Oct because the Light Council have had too much rain recently,
and are worried about road wear (as decided at their council meeting last
night).

So yes, the event will run still, as the council do want the event, just not
this month!.. Keep your eyes peeled for a new date.

Thanks to all those who offered to help!

Cheers,

Harrie.

Just reiterating that this event will be running on the 10th of November. Unfortunately, this date does clash with Rally of Melbourne. If you feel like a trip south to SA, please feel free to touch base with me and I can find out the details you need. Ethan and I are more than happy to accommodate your needs and help get you entered.

Hello All,

I have just got off the phone with Michael Clements, he informs me that the ASP Kuitpo Forest rally is cancelled due to the force majure situation, of a total fire ban.

After discussions with the regional council of Light (second rejection of road closure Permission), the HENRY LAWSON MEMORIAL RALLY is also cancelled for 2007.

THE UPSHOT OF THIS FOR CLUBMAN COMPETITORS IS;

The offer from SDCC that all competitors entered in the ASP Kuitpo forest rally, will be given entry into the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Sprint on Sunday 28th October, IS AN OFFER TO TAKE UP as there are no other clubman rounds planned.

SO GO AND HAVE A BLAST ON SOME ROADS THAT CLASSIC ADELAIDE USE, AND GIVE THE SPECTATORS ON SUNDAY SOMETHING TO WATCH.

Cheers

Andrew Challen,

Clerk of Course

Henry Lawson Memorial Rally 07.
