I know I could go through the CAMS regs but I thought asking would be quicker and save me interpreting the vaguries of CAMS written word.

1. Can I relocate the battery and washer bottle to inside the cabin?

2. I am about to replace the master cylinder and thought while I was bleeding I might upgrade the rubber brake hoses to braided; is this allowable under the Excel regs?

Also a couple of general Hyundai questions

1. My steering column moves in and out, I have removed the column and the pins that hold the two parts have sheared off, (I assume so they collapse in an accident) are these parts I can buy or should I just get column from the wreckers?

2. Can anyone recommend a good Hyundai workshop manual, or better still does anyone have a factory one on CD?

Thanks in advance
Tony

I bought both the HMC manuals which are for LHD cars they are OK, the Haynes Manual is also OK but both are lacking details on the Australian X3 range. Not aware of a CD version but I have a contact whom I got my CDROM AWD Magna manual through I'll ask.

In regards to the steering column I have a complete one on the car I'm wrecking at the moment if you want it you can have it, the car was t-boned so the steering column was not affected.

Thanks for the fast responses. :hail:

ernysp76 thanks for the offer of the steering column but I managed to find one for nics, so problem solved. Still curious to know if the pins are a replaceable item, (might ring Hyundai) .

Am I to take it that all the manuals available in Repco and the like are not for the Australian version, or just the ones you have?
