Crazy Dave

Gooday all
I started rallying in the in the early 90s after seeing a rally at Batemans Bay and thinking it was brilliant. The next year I heard it was coming to town so found a car in auto action and sent the guy a cheque for it (he sounded decent on the phone). Turned out the car was great for the money and I had fun until sticking it of the road.
After that I got into khanacross and learnt some more skills before going back out and continuing to have some fun on the tracks but doing nothing majorly special.
During a rebuild of he car I was getting withdrawal symptons so grabbed our little swift shopping trolley and took it to a khana and did better than I had ever done in the rally dato. Front wheel drive was my calling. Poor wife lost her car as I through a roll cage into it, put a gti motor in it and went hell for leather. With a very small car it was easy to make the thing turn around and travel sideways if it had to. Without having touched the suspension the car used to launch easily and probably looked a lot faster than it was.
I think this was when I started to get the name Crazy Dave, although I don't think I ever did a rally in the datto without hitting something but always finished (except the first one). I had a good run in that car getting some class wins but was getting to keen and soon turned it into a ball (a better ball than it was). Got another one from a dealer (noticed it in his yard) and dropped my cage into it and had some fun doing rallysprints while living at wagga for awhile but then had kids, got a house etc. So for awhile it was just khanas and a lot of officiating, including culminating in setting up Mini'Dulla which I still run as it was something that I wanted in rallying that didn't seem to be out there anymore.
The excel series is the thing that got me out here again. It just sounded like the perfect series that I needed to be a part of it and it has proved it over and over again. And thank you very much to everyone that did so much work in getting it going.
