View Full Version : Clutch Switch?

I'm just stripping a few things out of the wiring loom that are not required, and am wanting to ditch the stupid clutch switch that forces you to have your foot on the clutch when starting the engine.
I forget EVERY single time that I get in the car, and sit there for a few moments thinking about what could have broken before remembering to put the clutch in!

Does anyone know if the car will start normally with this disconnected, or will it just not start at all?
Unfortunately I forgot to test it before pulling everything out....

(and interestingly, my wifes 4 door Excel does not have this feature).

Cheers
Damo

No problem by passing the switch it is similar to a brake light switch. I also use a TN-TR bosch mitsubishi magna starter motor about twice the capacity of the Hyundai and makes it possible to get a car on a trailer on the starter in first gear if your can't get the motor working.
