Victorian Rally Drive Day.

Well, it finally happened after being washed out twice. A beautiful warm, sunny day (they all are in Melbourne at this time of year!) on Saturday saw about 40 of the Victorian Excel people and their friends, partners etc enjoying the long awaited "Rally Drive Day" at Rally Drive's new (dry) venue at Bacchus Marsh.

Most of the teams were represented, Paul Batten and Craig Jones were there despite having a lot of work to do on their "other" car (Subaru), which had a coming together with the scenery at the Great Lakes a week ago. Several new converts, Peter Morrison and Sue, Tony Moore, Andre and Rebecca Sharlott were there, Tom Kaitler arrived with Geoff Portman in the passengers seat with Loretta bringing along a journalist friend, the Ernst and Metha clans, the Cugleys and Jo Robison, Fiona White and Mick Loxton, Chris and Ben Rayson, Greg Moulden and lot's of others.

Everyone spent about 2 hours driving around the track with all sorts of passengers and all getting practice including some practicing left foot braking.

Everyone had a great time and are all looking forward to our partnership with Rally Drive.

Hi Guys,

Sorry I couldn't make last Saturday, I had planned to be there but unfortunately it wasn't to be due to a fairly major accident that I was involved in on Punt Rd last week - just relatively minor injuries fortunately but it could have easily been a lot worse.

Judging by the attitude of some of the cars in the pictures it looks like you all had fun anyway! I will probably catch up at the Alpine but I won't be able to hang around for the dinner on Sunday night unfortunately as someone scheduled another rally the next weekend which I have to get to so I will be cutting and running as soon as we book into the finish control.

For a newbie it was great to meet the friendly bunch of Excel competitors and have a quick once over of the cars, it gave me a good chance to get a look and a feel for what needs to be done to mine, special thanks to Tom and Emma for taking me for a drive, it was great to get some first hand experience!:hail:
