The competition conditions are now posted on the rally panel website at http://www.nswrally.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=110&Itemid=1 It is worth a read as they have changed a bit from last year. SPecifically to note is that people do not register with CAMS to be in the series anymore. All you need to do is turn up with a series legible car, wack the stickers on which will hopefully be available at all rounds, and then run.

This is for people with NSW licences so for Bega the victorians will not be taking points of us.

It also looks to me like for all NSW series, you can earn points for officiating. It is not written in the particular series rules themselves but is generic to the whole lot.
Whitey - Now you have the whole NSW series regs, do you also read it this way, in which case ???

As the officiating requirement is specifically mentioned in both the state and clubman sections but not in the gemini or excel parts. I don't think it applies. I will ask the RP for clarification.

Actually the officiating conditions are in Section 11, which is appendix D, Policies, and this relates to all areas of NSW rally series including Gemini and Excel, so if they decide we don't apply then they need to exclude us, which they will need to do very quickly as it is not long before we kick off.
Although at this stage it will probably be officiating for me at the first round as I don't think the scrutineers will like my ripple effect car, but depends who is scutineering really.

Having looked at the regs, my take on it is you can drop a round if there are six rounds and also officiate at a round for 22 points as well.
So you only have to actually compete in 4 rounds (providing there are six )

I know, but my problem is at the safety check, which I don't know why they are doing it, but because someone else has then they think they have to as well. But the scrutineer can inspect any car at any time. If the passenger door openned and closed properly and didn't have a gap of about an inch between the door and the pillar I would be running. If I can hide that I am in for sure as everything else will be straight by then. It is just a bit of cosmetic stuff still to be done. It is raining at the moment and a bit more of it between now and then will make it one of the best rallies as the only thing that normally brings it down a bit is dust, and that is a lot to do with being at this time of year. Great roads, great event, great location and great people make it a should try your hardest to do so I am (given that I am directing a rally this weekend which is taking up a lot of my time).

I'll try and find out who is scrutineering for you.
Send me some pictures if you get a chance - of the things you're worried about and I'll try and get you an answer. If it's who I think it is you might just be OK:cool: but better to find out BEFORE towing the car all the way down there!!
