I would always trailer to an event that way you always have a way of getting the car home if need be. If you want one of the best trailers suited to motorsport at a great price then drop me a line or check out our web site www.specialisedtrailers.com.au :D

Most people trailer their cars to events, just makes it easier if you have a DNF.
A few people drive to events, you'd just need to keep it at the back of your mind when the 'red mist' decends.

Usually other competitors will come to assist with spares and repairs to get you mobile again. Worst case I'm sure that someone will trailer your car home if you offer to pay for the petrol.

This is the first time in rallying that I have owned a fully registered trailer and trailerred to events. It is definitely a lot less on your mind. But the rally community is very friendly and you let it be known that you are getting into the sport and can't afford the trailer just yet, if something goes wrong, someone else will be there to help out. There have been some other options around over the years on cheaper and easier alternatives such as loading up 1 pair of wheels (can't remember the name of the thing) and dragging it along but being as an excel is pretty reliable, you could get away with it with the occasional helping hand. Don't let it be the thing to stop you competing, we can sort that sort of thing out if needed.

Don't let it be the thing preventing you. If you drove to an event and broke something and I didn't, you could throw your car on my trailer and drive it home. And I would not be the only one that would be able to help out. And its not just within the excel group as well, although it is exceptionally good, but the general thing amongst rallyers is to help each other out.

We use to drive our rally cars to the events. However, with both Ethan and I driving at things like Khanas and Rallysprints, the rally car received a very harsh treatment. We have just bought a tow car so not we will be building a trailer and towing the car to events. Better to be safer than sorry sometimes.

However, if the event was close and we may still drive the car. We have plenty of contacts who would loan us a tow home or just ring our tow truck mates. We are fortunate to have these contacts.
