Just want to find out the cage requirements. Is it as per CAMS ROPS regs or does the series have its own restrictions etc. For example bars in engine bay etc. Also some contact info for club so i can find out what where and when. Have started on car after purchasing a 1 owner never crashed always serviced with log books car. Its and early SOHC but it as straight as and not a rollover or "P" plate special. Price was a little high but need a good chassis to start with. ( I hope):) Any special requirements on seats for rally cars or FIA approved seat ok.

Thanks again.

Welcome on board there is plenty of advice out there but build your car to the Hyundai Excel regs and you'll be OK nothing special required, our quickest Victorian has SOHC and a standard interior with a special removable cross brace in the roll cage so that between events they can use the rear seats. On retrospect I would be concentrating spending my money on suspension rather than seats.

Yep it as per the good book schedule J.
Only Excel series requirement is no chrome molly.
In NSW you can't go past Bond Roll Bars, who can provide a bolt in, a weld in kit for the do it yourselfer or you can take the car to them with the interior stripped and they can build a custom weld in cage.

I would be going the bolt in kit if I built again simly because shells are prooving so strong anyway and that they are very cheap when needed. You spend a lot more money saving a car with a weld in cage than you often do getting a new shell. This really applies to any rally car where shells are cheap and abundant which is definitely the case with excels.

But as was said biggest thing to do to make these cars quick is put the money into the suspension and then they rock.
