Excel test drive

Just taken the Excel for a test drive. First time in a front wheel drive car. Why does the car go in a different direction to which the steering wheel is pointed? In fact why does it go in ANY direction other than which the steering wheel is pointed.
This has got me worried. I think the driver/directional vector interface needs a lot of work.

what tyres are on the car ?
has it had a wheel alignment of any sort?
what surface (tarmac/ gravel) did this driver/directional vector interface problem occur?

Not sure what tyres you had on but i have noticed that with road tyres on my car handles like a pig, but as soon as the rally tyres go on it seems to hook up in all the right ways.
