Dunno, could be something about Forestry charging prohibitive amounts for road repair ( from next year they are trying to implement a $10000 bond per rally).
It may have something also to do with only getting 10km of set-up done, and having to use 4WD and diff locks to get out of the stage. and that was a good stage. In similar conditions last year (doing road book work....) I was stuck in another stage for 3 hours (in a 4wd).
Feel free to step up and run a rally at any time.
I also don't care if the comments were made in jest, but a lot of people put a lot of work into these things, and the decisions made aren't easily.

Hey Bored for the second time may we have a Name to address you to, we are only trying to be polite and helpfull.
It does get harder to be helpful when your posts upset people who are the first to be CRO's,Start officials and in this case one of the guys who had to drive through the forrest the other day, help make the heart wrenching desicion to call off a rally then spend the rest of the day pulling all the bunting down, removing signs and helping let over 200 people know to stay at home.
The roads in this country are like every other country

Hi All
Is it just me or my computer that has trouble opening the links for documentation on the GCTMC site. I can open the Boarder ranges link above but not the links on that page.
Thanks

Works for me in FF3 (surprising really given the normal lockdowns I have on his computer, my pen test box).

c) you prefer getting wet
d) you're not australian
e) you're a troll
You're either having a lend:
http://www.google.com.au/search?q=define%3Atroll&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
or a big ugly monster from Norse mythology that likes to eat people.
Did I miss anything?
Have at me, rather than spam the boards my email is rexxus @ gmail dot com.

from next year they are trying to implement a $10000 bond per rally
That's the ystem we have been running in Victoria for 15+ years, and generally it works really well. It's a significant reason why entry fees down here tend to be lower than elsewhere ... because we don't pay per-event fees to forestry.
The bond is financed by a per-car levy from events (~$10/car for club events, ~$25/car for VRC .... although the fees have since been reduced) & is managed by CAMS & the Rally Panel. I'm not 100% sure, but I think CAMS may have underwritten it for the first few years, until the $10K had been collected ?
CAMS has given forestry an undertaking that the bond is in place. Any damage claims are paid 50% from the road damage fund & 50% by the organising club.
Most events get no claims at all, and there is a "mediation protocol" between CAMS & forestry for disputed claims.

Warning: OT
Gday Dave, my understanding is that they want to implement it on top of the current fees, bond paid to them with nobody in between. Tanz: can you clarify? Happy to be proven wrong....

They weren't painful. You were painful because you only wanted to give me a couple of hours to do it :slap:.
Here is a man that can build a clubman, build a rally car from scratch (with a wing), create a child (well we all think it's his although she seems a bit smarter than him) and is man enough to do Rally Q with yellow stuffed animal face planted against the side window, yet he is afraid of 12 volts of lil ol direct current .
And you fly millions of dollars of technology for a living, God help the passengers if you blew a fuse mid-flight .
See you on the weekend dude!

Dwarf,
you're wrong!:slap: The asking price for the bond was$15,000. We now have a gentlemans agreement in place, that means the club running Kalpowar doesn't require to pay a bond. It was suggested that the bond would be asked for at other events, and I do believe Townsville do pay around the $5000 for the bond to run in FNQ.
Cheers.

It's not hard to see why certain minority groups in the community prefer street racing.

rumour has it this will be the last Urbanville too???
Unless maybe the Excel community can step up and do some of the work.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm memo to self Ask Excel and PRRS people about offering services to help run a rally by doing ground work and invite those weird and wonderfull southerners to come, it is after all in NSW.
